The Kardashian clan has long been the subject of speculation, but one thing has remained the same for almost a decade: The reality TV star’s father, Kanye West, is a huge fan.
As a child, West was a huge basketball fan.
And in fact, he would often spend hours in the family gym in the hopes of developing a basketball game.
West’s dad even coached his son at a high school basketball tournament in the mid-1980s.
Kanye West has been a basketball fan for decades.
Now he wants to share his own story to inspire others.
In the last few weeks, West’s family has gone on a quest to find out why his father once told him he loved basketball, according to a report from The Associated Press.
The family was reportedly so inspired by West’s story that they decided to take him to see him in person.
West and his family flew to Los Angeles to meet with his father, who they called the “King of Pop,” to get an update on his son’s basketball skills.
During the meeting, the father told West he was an extremely talented player and he was the most important person in his life.
He even took a shot at his son saying, “I can’t believe I told you this when you were only 5.”
West told The AP that his father was telling him he was so happy he had to tell his son that he was “very happy with my life and my success.”
The family eventually took West to see his father play in a basketball tournament and he is expected to be in attendance at the event later this week.
