A streaming app for Samsung’s upcoming new Samsung TV set-top box, according to Samsung, has officially opened its US online store.
Watch TV will be available for download at Samsung’s online store from Tuesday, July 17, the company announced.
Users who pre-order the $299 set-topper will receive a Samsung TV remote for free, which features a “multi-touch” touch interface similar to Apple’s Siri.
The new service is Samsung’s way of trying to attract US customers to its new TV set, which is expected to hit stores this fall.
Samsung will reportedly offer the service to customers who live outside the US as well.
While the company has been slowly rolling out streaming apps for its TV sets for months, Samsung has had a tough time finding any success with its own streaming services.
This time around, the US TV streaming service has taken a huge step forward, offering both live streaming and video chat with Samsung’s TV set.
For now, the service is only available in the US, but Samsung is already planning to roll out the service nationwide by the end of the year.
