Mobile streaming services are rapidly gaining momentum, with the likes of Sling TV, Hulu Plus, and Amazon’s own Prime Now making it to every major U.S. home theater.
They are also becoming a necessity for older generations, as the aging population increasingly switches to streaming services over cable or satellite.
However, while the likes, Apple TV and Amazon Prime Now, offer content tailored to a wide range of demographics, Roku’s lineup of top-tier streaming services is arguably its most unique.
It offers an all-inclusive subscription that includes streaming from a variety of popular and exclusive titles, and the company is also the first to offer a $10/month “CharterPlus” bundle that includes over 70 titles.
In an effort to capitalize on the growing popularity of Roku’s streaming service, the company has launched a new Roku channel, RokuTV, which includes over 300,000 channels.
Roku has also released an app called Roku TV 2, which is compatible with all Roku devices.
While RokuTV is not yet available in the U.K., it is expected to launch there soon.
A lot of these channels will be available for free, so why are they so expensive?
The answer is that Roku is paying for these channels in the hopes that it can continue to offer the best quality for its customers.
Roku doesn’t have a “exclusive” bundle in place that includes many of these offerings, so the company makes money on every customer that subscribes to one of these services.
The Roku channel currently has over 1.5 million subscribers, according to Roku.
That’s a number that’s likely to continue to grow as more customers subscribe.
In addition to the free, non-exclusive channels, Roku has partnered with many major brands including Disney, Microsoft, Verizon, and Netflix to create a dedicated Roku channel.
These channels are also available on Roku TVs, which are the only devices that can be used with Roku’s apps.
Roku’s TV platforms have also recently become very popular, with over 80% of Roku TV subscribers currently watching content on their TVs.
The channels on RokuTV include over 300 channels including Disney and Hulu Plus.
Netflix is also included, along with the popular HBO, Amazon Prime, and other streaming services.
The channels on the channel are currently priced at $10 per month, which makes them affordable to most consumers.
While there’s still no word on when Roku will begin offering free Roku channels, the Roku brand will be part of the “Channels” section of Roku.
Roku TV also makes an appearance, as well, as a separate channel that has been priced at about $20 per month.
